General guidelines
Please note that conference registration allows you to submit ONE abstract as first author (either poster or talk). Organizing or speaking in a symposium does not prevent organizers or speakers from submitting an additional abstract for a talk or poster presentation. Co-author contributions are unlimited.
Please note that references are not allowed to be included in abstracts. Authors should emphasize what they consider to be most important and interesting and, where possible, clearly state theoretical implications. Authors are strongly encouraged to write in as clear a manner as possible (in English) and are not permitted to use acronyms or abbreviations without prior introduction. Where necessary, the SI system of units should be used. The word limit for individual abstracts is 300 words, presented as plain text without figures or graphics.
The organizing committee is interested in featuring papers and posters on the following topics:

Submission guidelines
Early career researchers are particularly encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to organize a symposium. The Organizing Committee seeks diversity in ECVP submissions in terms of gender, age, nationality, ethnicity, and topic.
- The submission should include (1) a title, (2) a general symposium abstract (word limit: 400), (3) the names of the main organizer(s) and speakers with related affiliations, and (4) the titles of all talks and co-authors. Please indicate the preferred order of talks for the symposium. The general symposium abstract should describe the theme, the motivation, and the relevance of the topic to the ECVP community.
- A symposium may have a maximum of two organizers (who may also be speakers in the symposium). The organizer of the symposium is in charge of the submission and communicating with the identified speakers on the arrangements.
- In 2025, there are two alternatives: (A) 90-minute sessions. These sessions are scheduled for five speakers, with some time for audience questions. (B) 60-minute sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (see Schedule). These shorter sessions are scheduled for three to four speakers, with some time for audience questions. In both cases, talk time and Q&A time may be scheduled within the 1-1.5 hour session at the discretion of the symposium chairs (e.g., after individual talks or concentrated at the end of the session).
- Individual abstracts of all talks in a symposium must be submitted during the abstract submission period (indicating that this is being submitted as an accepted symposium talk). Once the symposium is accepted, any changes to the schedule or speakers must be approved by the organizing committee.
Registration & Abstract Submission
Early-bird registration and abstract submission for talks and posters is open until April 6th 2025 (latest time zone on earth). Please make sure that also symposium talks are submitted as abstracts and that the drop-down option “Symposium Talk” is selected for the form of presentation. Late registration without abstract submission will be possible until mid August. Please note that registration is required before abstract submission. The conference fee will be fully refunded if your submission is not accepted.
